Are you bored with your work, your relationship or your life?
Being bored is a state of mind when you are fed up and sick of what’s going on or the lack of activity around you. Complacency also contributes to feeling bored. Boredom becomes a great concern when it results in procrastination, indecision and feeling listless and jaded.
The best way to avoid feeling bored is to make your life interesting by not sticking to too many routines. Another way is by making daily progress in everything that you do. You need to pay attention to you thoughts and daily activities and find ways not to submit yourself to drudgery and taking things for granted.
Here are a few tips to overcome boredom.
Your thoughts affect your behavior. By changing your mind about the meaning of your emotion and experiences, you will generate a different attitude.
Powerful goals keep you inspired. You can?t feel bored at the same time when you are motivated to build a life.
Create mental images to stimulate your thoughts. Visualize where you want to be and what you want to become. Use your imagination to experience a situation that you want to happen in your life. The wonderful thing about imagination is you can create anything you wish to experience.
Change your physiology. Go for a walk or do something physically outrageous. Write down 10 things you can do and start something from your list to overcome your inertia.
One of the ways to become aware of what triggers your boredom is to question yourself and take a hard look at it. Observe and write down your feelings and thoughts for a week and at the end of it, reflect on them.
Create your curiosity on what?s happening around and inside you. You find life boring because of the repetition or a pattern of some habits or activities. Try to look at and do them differently and get yourself fascinated with other options and possibilities.
Read, hear, watch or do something stimulating, exciting, and entertaining. Go out, see and experience new things.
Get away from people and situations that bore you. You can?t just walk out of a relationship but you can give yourself some space to do things that interest and motivate.
Effective communication does not just mean knowing the right words to say. Emotions and body language also play a very important role in getting your message across. In fact, body language says a lot about what you’re feeling and thinking as of the moment. People who are transparent could get themselves in trouble. Most Hollywood celebrities and salespeople have already perfected the technique of keeping a poker face and staying still in the midst of a major hurdle (as with the case of gossip-ridden movie stars) or if they are being told something quite contrary to their point (as with people in the sales industry). However, most of us do not have this skill of controlling our reactions to events and things said. Thus, knowing how to read a person’s emotions based on his or her body language and gestures is important for effective communications. Not only will this knowledge be able to help you rise above the pack, but also keep your nose clean. How do you know if somebody is anxious, angry, happy, surprised, or sad by judging only his body movements? Here are some ways you can read emotions by observing body language. If a person is happy he… – smiles a lot. We might even find him doing a little skip as he walks. – has relaxed facial muscles and fluid movements – hums or sings to himself If a person is anxious he… – has a pale face and dry lips – starts perspiring profusely – fidgets a lot and has shifty eyes – keeps shaking his leg or tapping his foot – makes sudden movements after a while of being still – stutters If a person is angry he… – pounds his fist on the table and uses a loud voice to speak – clenches his fist and leans forward when talking to you – bares his teeth and appears to be snarling as he talks – has tense muscles If a person is surprised he… – suddenly opens his mouth (hence, the expression ‘my jaw dropped’) – suddenly takes a step back – widens his eyes or clamps his hand over his mouth If a person is sad he… – has trembling lips – is not able to look you straight in the eye and sometimes even has tears forming – slumps his body – uses a rather flat or weak tone of voice These are only a few of the indicators of the key emotions any human being feels. Some might even overlap. For instance, a person with shifty eyes may be either lying or just nervous; so, in order for you to effectively interpret what he is feeling, you have to take the context of the conversation in point. When you think about it, part of body language reading is skill and part is sensitivity. There really is no clear-cut rule as to what kind of body language pertains to what emotion, but there are general signals that can be found in most people. In short, reading body language does not take knowledge of rocket science. Because body language is part of daily living, anybody who does not exhibit any kind of body language is considered wooden, as with a mannequin that has just one expression and pose all throughout. Because we are humans, we succumb to our emotions sometimes. And it is through body language that we convey messages that we don’t have the courage to say out loud.

Lake Park, FL May 11, 2009 – When was the last time you felt happy? Do you jump on the bandwagon of “negativity” or surround yourself with positive people? Even in a bad economy, there still remains hope at the end of the day where we can turn to those people who bring us joy in something we have a love for. A place where we can share our experiences, favorite movies, or just make new friends from all over the world. It will be a learning experience that is new, refreshing and will bring enjoyment with no cost but to bring human beings together as one talking about their favorite subjects…..themselves!
Mental State. What does that really mean? We always hear that successful individuals are “mentally tough.” Does that mean the “mentally tough” person focuses only on the task and nothing else?
Mental state as defined in AMP IT UP is a condition. It is a balance of eagerness to learn, a mind void of unnecessary thought, positive attitude, proper mental preparation, and a firm belief in the task and/or goal to be achieved. It is a calm, fully relaxed yet ready for action feeling.
Having the proper mental state is like setting the table for a meal for peak performance.
How do we achieve our best mental state to perform at our highest levels?
The proper mental state is not a one-size-fits-all concept. We need to identify “triggers” that place us into a peak performance ready condition. We need to understand how stress directly affects our mental state. Stress can help to a point. Stress is a basic ingredient for peak performance. Stress is having a problem to solve: a presentation, a sports competition, a fancy dinner party, mid-term exams. Too much stress and our mind and body begin to shut down.
To begin let us identify the negative stress factors in your life. To prepare your mental state, you must eliminate previous disruptive thoughts and emotions. You must abandon your fear of failure. First,
list activities or goals in which you have failed. Then take each of the above and write a clarifying statement of why you failed and what you were most worried about while executing the task.
Now you have an idea of thoughts and distractions that cause you not to perform at your highest levels.
When you feel these performance-inhibiting thoughts rising, you must replace them with new thoughts of success. You must visualize a positive end. You must visualize your peak performance.
In essence, you have two performances to deal with: your mental turmoil and the task.
