To me Personal Development is all about improving oneself.

How you feel about yourself, what you think about yourself. Right down to how you react to what is thrown/ said to you. For example, I would react in a positive way if someone complimented me on how I looked. It would make me feel good. I would then be happy, positive and confident and able to tackle anything.  If someone said something negative to me, or criticized me, then my reaction to that would be the opposite. I would feel down about it, my body language would be heavy and personally I would want to run away and hide, to protect myself.

Anyway I have been into personal development for several years as have my family. My husband, Billy, runs a personal Development Company. My eldest son, 21 is a student at university studying Mechanical Engineering and finds the tools he has learnt in Personal Development invaluable. My younger son, 18, works within the company in the office and on seminars as support staff. We have all done courses, retreats, weekend seminars, fire-walking, etc. etc. and I must say we all come back reenergized and feeling great!

As well as live days, I have also read many books on subjects and learned tools you can use to rid yourself of what holds you back. These can be simple things like thoughts. Oh yes! It sounds simple, but trying to change how you think is not that easy, but it can be done. Then you can, if you wish, really explore your subconscious – the other 90% of the brain we do not use.

“Awareness is halfway to Solution” Quote by Billy Harvey

If you change how you think, become aware and realize that it is YOU who creates what happens to you, by your attitude and what you give off, then half the battle is won.

As the saying goes, “What you reap is what you sow”

The only reason this makes sense is because it is true. If you are kind to others, others will be kind to you. What goes around comes around. Would you not like to be treated by others the way you would like to be treated yourself. You create your reality. Does this make sense?

To finish, I would encourage anyone of any age to take a look at Personal Development. It is not ‘new aged’ or ‘newfangled’ and only fit for ‘weirdoes’. It is all about YOU, how you look at yourself, see yourself against others. Whether you can accept yourself for who you are – or whether you are always looking for other people’s approval.

The only person that you can change is YOU. If you change your negative emotions to positive ones, e.g. love instead of hate, then your world will change around you.

Be Brave, Be Bold, Be Beautiful and Go for it!
