Come and Visit me…now!..at Squidoo

I have to say I have been a bit unsure about getting on the band wagon of Social Networking. This has really stemmed from the fact that I was worried about having too many things to try and control and keep updating…after all I am having enough problems keeping up already. If you are like me you are still working your way around looking at other students sites and leaving comments on their blogs. How many hours are there in the day that I could use…forget about sleep!!! ..Sorry for the little rant, just had to get it out of my system.

I have been reading all the free reports and ebooks I can on the subject over the last few weeks and I am sure you can hear the sounds of the wheels turning … as I am starting to realise that this ain’t going to be as hard as I thought it may be.

So as I heard a lot about Squidoo, I decided to give this a go first and just put not just my toe in the water but jump in fully clothed. I think they have designed it for me, i.e. based on the KISS principle..there are differing opinions on what people think this means for example…Keep It Simple Stupid… I like to believe it is Keep It Sweet & Simple … sounds better at least from my perspective.

The process was very straight forward… fill in your registration details… just a hint I have realised and I know you are going to say …Dah! (that’s obvious), use your actual name from the blog site, rather than another user name..it builds your presence on the site.

Next follow the prompts on setting up a webpage or LENSE at they call it.. in my case it is :
http://www.squidoo.com/paul_mracek … check it out and leave a comment on what you think … appreciate any and all thoughts on what to add or improve.

You will then be taken through a series of steps to fill out key information and there is a little prompter that tells you whether you have written enough to be of interest to others.. It is a little time consuming to set up but it wasn’t what I would call difficult or hard to do. They then add to the Lens a link to your blog site and the posts are automatically added to the page, so it keeps getting the updates as you put them on your site…so what could be easier and worth the time to do it..

So I would recommend to take the time and go to http://www.squidoo.com/ and join up and create your lens..by the way you can make as many lenses as you want that gives you more content on the web and more links back to you website..

If you have any questions just leave a comment and I will get back to you… and of course if you join the RSS Feed you will get notified when comments are updated or questions answered.

Hope you found this helpful… it was good fun in putting it together. Does this mean I will be less apprehensive going forward..time will tell…but for now I think yes..go nothing to loose as they say.

Keep safe and happy..best wishes

Paul
